Job Description:
This a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This National Guard position is a Permanent WG-5801-08 SURFACE MAINTENANCE REPAIRER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1193000 and is part of the MO Field Maintenance Shop 6. This is a bargaining position.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - Warrant Officer: CW3 (W3) with date of rank after 29 August 2024 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work. WG-08 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience in removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts and components of combat, tactical, commercial, automotive, and special purpose vehicles and equipment. Experience must also demonstrate basic understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other non-mechanical systems theories, and skill to replace, fit, install and adjust systems. Experience in reading and interpreting parts list, manufacturer's repair manuals, technical manuals, diagrams, engineering drawings, and schematics.
Performs limited diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles.
Assists higher graded mechanics with repair and/or overhaul of internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls.
Makes routine repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts and components.
Determines when parts should be cleaned, adjusted or replaced with standard parts to complete work orders.
Removes, replaces, adjusts, cleans and installs parts and components.
Performs minor body and fender, or other metal repairs.
Performs limited repairs and routine maintenance on small arms and accessory equipment by replacing worn or damaged parts.
Makes minor repairs to canvas and leather items using bonding/sealing compounds and hand tools such as awls, canvas needles etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
