This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. All candidates MUST meet the following minimum qualifications: at least three (3) months experience performing laborer duties, AND knowledge of operating simple power equipment and hand tools such as steam cleaners and vacuums, AND knowledge of performing routine maintenance procedures for equipment (e.g. visual check of the equipment, limited lubrication, cleaning/replacing air filters, refueling, etc.), AND ability to understand and follow oral instructions, AND ability to read and write in order to prepare required forms, AND ability to follow written guidelines and/or instructions. AND ability to perform simple manual duties (ex: moving equipment, objects weighing 40 lbs. etc.). Responsible for providing operational support to activities who provides support to customers in various scheduled events and functions.
Responsible for conference room configuration, beginning with organizing tables, chairs, audio/video equipment from storage to actual setup of this furniture/equipment in accordance with established banquet/special event orders.
Loads and unloads equipment and furniture, moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges for storage.
Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required for the applicable conference/meeting set up.
Performs duties alone or as a member of a work crew.
