This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license/registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the basic requirement and selective placement factor for the series in which you are applying, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing all aspects of landscape architectural design for a wide variety of installation shore facility projects and sites, including planning, concept design development, sustainable design, design analyses, compliance with codes and standards, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and other required services; Working closely with project leaders through all phases of design, pre-award and construction; Providing accurate field office projections for design and construction workload to determine resource requirements; Providing post construction award services (PCAS), including review and approval of contractor's submittals for conformance with contract drawings and specifications; Providing technical advice and direction, review and administration related to the planning, design, construction, testing, operation, maintenance and repairs for new and existing shore facilities and; Evaluating project management / engineering metrics relating to overall project schedule, cost impacts, and quality control/quality assurance efforts to maximize effectiveness of program deliverables and support. You will recommend strategies to eliminate obstacles to achieve program goals.
You will assign work to staff based on the contract requirements of facility construction objectives.
You will participate in multi-disciplinary in-house design teams.
You will provide technical landscape architectural training and mentoring for new and junior employees to increase their technical competency.
You will perform technical management and oversight on execution of multi-disciplinary design projects.
You will provide expert technical advice and direction, review and administration related to the planning, design, construction, testing, operation, maintenance and repairs for new and existing naval shore facilities.
You will provide day-to-day expert technical guidance and support in developing initial project documents plans, specifications, studies, reports, and other design work products.
You will formulate architectural and engineering project requirements in accordance with facilities construction guidelines.
