This position is located at FMWR Aquatics on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Up to 25% recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week. Possesses and maintains the following certifications (A copy of each certification must be submitted at the time of application): Lifeguard (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis) American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent (i.e. Star Guard or Ellis) First Aid. Customer service experience. Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package. American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis Lifeguard Instructor Certification. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis Water Safety Instructor Certification.
Performs lifeguarding duties and employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests.
Responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
Attends aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Keeps accurate records and adequate supplies.
Assists in maintaining pool and area clean and free from any hazards.
