THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (HAZMAT), Position Description Number D1908000 and is part of the CO USPFO Warehouse, National Guard.
Military Grades: E-2 thru E-7 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3. It must be documented with "from (mm/yy)" and "to (mm/yy)" dates and description of the specialized experience. DO NOT copy each bullet listed below word for word and place into your resume; you must describe your personal experience as it pertains to each bullet. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 12 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience identifying and sorting a variety of complex materials and equipment. 2. Experience receiving materials and equipment, recording, and placing items in proper storage areas. 3. Experience preparing all items for shipment using appropriate agency instructions. 4. Experience in mathematical equations. 5. Experience interpreting and using Federal Supply Catalogs, military and manufacturing catalogs, and technical and agency manuals. 6. Experience using and operating forklifts and motor vehicles.
The purpose of this position is to identify, examine and classify materiel and equipment and make final determinations on acceptance and disposition of standardized and complex equipment and materiel using shipping documents, contracts, catalogs, drawings, and related documents. Identifies, receives, sorts, counts, classifies and handles hazardous materials in the USPFO storage areas. Insures the safe receipt, storage and movement of hazardous and toxic materials and substances such as ammunition, explosives, chemicals, or radioactive materials in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. Responsible to identify, collect, process and consolidate hazardous waste in preparation for disposal. Receives or rejects materiel, equipment, including non-standard equipment, and complex assemblies for the facility based on their knowledge of products, equipment, and procedures as well as having the ability to determine subtle and inconspicuous defects. Determines acceptance, serviceability and distribution requirements for perishable, classified, precious metals, textiles, clothing, complex electronic/mechanical equipment, assemblies and components. Performs a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, inspecting for defects, storing, selecting and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. Assists with the development of facility regulations, and operating instructions that relate to hazardous materials management and HAZMAT safety procedures. Performs duties to provide storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or any other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. Serves as the Precious Metals Recovery Program (PRMP) monitor. Develops, establishes and maintains work center training programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
