About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Clinical Psychologist: Education: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing psychological counseling, assessing patients to determine an appropriate diagnosis, developing treatment plans, and instructing others in proper therapeutic techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). License: This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Supervise assigned professional and paraprofessional employees, functioning as the authoritative source of information for the specialty of Psychology.
Provide guidance to the hospital commander regarding policy in Psychology issues.
Provide individual, couple, family and group psychological counseling utilizing a variety of treatment modalities to patients with a wide range of emotional and behavioral health disorders.
Select, administer, score, and interpret objective and projective psychological tests for the purpose of assessing patient's cognitive, psycho-educational, emotional personality, vocational, and neuropsychological functioning.
Participate with other professional staff in providing emergency behavioral health services to include screening patients for appropriateness of psychiatric hospitalization.
