This position is located at DFMWR Picatinny Arsenal Golf Course Greens Maintenance Division at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. Initial Cut-Off Date: - Monday, January 27, 2025, applications must be received by 11:59 PM (EST). Standard Qualifications: Incumbent must have extensive work experience that demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform work in all phases of golf course maintenance to include one-year experience equivalent to the next lower level. Incumbent also must have experience in irrigation system repair, modification and usage. Also, must have a working knowledge of the chemicals and equipment used to control fungi, insects, and weeds on the golf course. Incumbent must be certified, or certifiable as pesticide applicator by the Department of Defense, in the categories required for the use of the golf course. A Current and Valid Driver's License. Qualifications must be supported by your Resume and/or Documentation uploaded to your application. Failure to provide said information can result in your application being marked as ineligible. Highly Preferred Criteria: Possess a two- or four-year degree in turf management. At least one year of supervisory experience. Applicants who possess the Highly Preferred Criteria will be referred to management first for review.
Incumbent is under the direct supervision and training of the Golf Course Superintendent in the maintenance, repair and improvement of the condition of the entire playing area of the golf course.
This includes, but is not limited to, direction and supervision of subordinate employees in all phases of course maintenance to include mowing, watering, fertilizing and maintaining tees, fairways, greens and roughs and all peripheral areas
Additionally, performs administrative duties related to the maintenance of the golf course and equipment used on the course.
This includes ordering and receiving parts, equipment and materials for the course and equipment maintenance section.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
