To meet basic requirements for this position one of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements (IORs) must be met: Psychology Series, 0180 General Natural Resources Management and Biological Science Series, 0401 All Professional Engineering Positions General Physical Science Series General Mathematics and Statistics Series Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. To qualify for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DR-01 (GS-11) broadband. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Position duties include, but are not limited to: 1. Describes the technical vision and content of PO portfolios to external audiences and support scientific proposal reviews, providing input on the technical strengths and weaknesses of research and development proposals. 2. Advises POs in support of research opportunities, assessments and recommends new efforts, assists with budget development, and provides guidance on carrying out associated technical and program management responsibilities to include technical analysis, program strategies and support for off-base initiatives. 3. Conducts timely technical analysis to define, assess, and monitor new and emerging research opportunities, and potential thrust ideas for AFOSR. 4. Aides in determining optimal program strategies, including metrics, goals, and objectives of innovative results. 5. Assists with grant processing and budget management.
