This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Office of National Examinations and Supervision. This position serves as an Operations Research Analyst (Senior Financial Modeler).

As an Operations Research Analyst (Senior Financial Modeler), you will: Serve as the primary analyst responsible for the model development process including conceptualization through data exploration, model selection, model building and testing, model documentation and deployment, user training, ongoing monitoring, leveraging best industry practice while simultaneously accounting for the unique characteristics and risks of credit unions industry. Serve as a primary ONES resource on quantitative methods and research, and identify opportunities to utilize data mining and statistical techniques to develop and provide analytic insights, innovative and practical solutions to support NCUA's strategies and initiatives. Analyze economic conditions and policy developments in the financial service industry for their potential impact on the federally insured credit unions and the NCUSIF. Perform economic forecast and develop economic products and presentations to support ONES supervision program and scenario development. Review business processes, portfolio characteristics and technical documentations and apply econometric or quantitative methods to evaluate the full life cycle of models used by credit unions, focusing on conceptual model design and methodology, data inputs, model implementation and performance, model on-going monitoring and change management processes. Work with other members of ONES analytic team, ONES field examiners and specialists, and other NCUA groups to build ONES analytic capability and establish the internal model governance and model risk management framework. Work with ONES credit unions and third-party vendors to develop and implement independent validation strategies, including assessing their model development methodologies and processes, identifying potential model weaknesses and materiality of the risk, and developing necessary challenge models using statistical and econometric techniques and industry and proprietary data.
