This is an Interdisciplinary position that can be filled by the 0801 (General Engineering), 1301 (General Physical Science), 1515 (Operations Research, 1520 (Mathematics), or the1550 (Computer Science) series. The series that the selected applicant will be placed into depends on their qualifications. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 pay band (GS-9 through GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist evaluating software and infrastructure design to resolve technical problems and ensure the successful design, development, or installation efforts of a Command and Control system. You will serve as an Engineer or Scientist in the Integrated Combat Systems Department, Infrastructure and Human Systems Division, Advanced Infrastructure Branch (Code V32) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).
You will lead the efforts necessary to assess, integrate, implement, and field digital infrastructure in support of current and future Command and Control system capabilities associated with various programs supported.
You will work in the areas of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Virtualization.
You will resolve technical, design, and operational issues in support of various programs.
You will apply engineering principles and rigor to evaluate the software and infrastructure design and resolve technical problems in support of certification and Fleet delivery decisions.
You will apply problem solving and analysis skills to evaluate Command and Control Systems deployment issues.
You will effectively communicate with team members on status, issues, and concerns both orally and in writing with a variety of people to include senior managers throughout Department of Defense (DoD) and private industry.
