Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to ensure the medical doctors, independent license practitioners, and non-physician providers' credentials meet the Service Unit Medical Staff Bylaws, government and accrediting agency standards. This position is located in Chinle Service Unit, Division of Clinical Services, Chinle, Arizona.
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Maintaining credentialing process, ensuring medical staff are qualified, initiating background research, evaluating medical staff files, compiling reports, and communicating with Service Unit. Prescreening credentialing application. Providing technical assistance. Preparing and complies files for monthly meetings Or 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement GS09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Processing credentialing and privileging process. Monitoring current licensures, initiating background research, ensuring qualifications are met, collecting documentation, evaluating medical staff files, ensuring timely filing, and providing technical assistance. Working with computerized web-based credentialing software system. Analyzing and identifying experience, training, education and other background information for Medical/Dental staff, Licensed Independent Practitioners, Non-physician providers, residents, fellowships, medical students and volunteers. Or Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Maintains and processes credentialing and privileging process for the Medical/Dental Staff, Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIP), and Non-Physician providers, residents, fellowship, medical student and volunteer. Ensures each medical staff are qualified, competent and capable of delivering quality health services consistent with the medical community. Initiates back ground research. Works with the medical staff, medical staff leadership, executive leadership and governing body to assure the completeness and accuracy of assignment according to Medical Staff Bylaws, rules and regulations to Chief of Departments for completion. Identifies the needs for and sources of technical services, supplies, equipment, professional books, journals, and other services needed to carry out assignments. Ensure timely filing of Medicaid and Medicare providers numbers. Verifying incoming and verification of hospital affiliation and clinical privileges.
