Job Description:

This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Southern Plains Region, Anadarko Agency, Branch of Real Estate Services Anadarko, Oklahoma. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-1101). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-5: I have at least 1 year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-4 in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). Specialized experience must include assisting specialists who process and approve subsurface leasing, leasing, permits, easements and rights-of-ways, and word processing, either solely or in combination with clerical work - for example, preparing realty correspondence, maintenance of logs and clearing and categorizing files or documents to aid in delivery of documents or files to the appropriate file format. OR EDUCATION: 4 years of successful completion of a full course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the experience or education requirements, applicants must show possession of typing and office automation skills. Applicants may meet the typing requirement by passing the appropriate test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificate by the Office of Personnel Management local office or by self-certifying their proficiency. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472). Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from the closing date.
Communicate with beneficiaries, lessees, landowners and other interested parties about the process options, documentation, and other needs that may be associated with contracting activities. Perform work consisting of technical duties with continuing responsibility for projects, questions, or problems that arise within the realty program. Serve as an assistant assuming a wide responsibility of technical duties, i.e., proceeding with advertisement/ publications, verifying data to process applications for contract under immediate supervisor. Accept applications for realty associated activity, providing technical assistance and information in response to inquiries to assure regulatory compliance. Screen incoming correspondence prepares, and processes replies to routine inquiries and assembles any required supplemental material and submits for signature. Provide assistance to Indians who apply for the sale of land, patents in fee, exchanges, partitionments, removal of restrictions, and return to trust status of fee lands.
