Job Description:

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist providing technical oversight and direction in the design, installation and integration of highly complex systems to include the configuration and testing of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software and hardware for the development and sustainment of fire control systems or weapon systems. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will be responsible on the development, production and sustainment activities for the advanced and deployed system hardware, software, and documentation under the cognizance of the SPS.
You will serve as a project engineer, assure assigned project requirements, and program milestones are successfully achieved.
You will ensure contractor developed systems are designed, fabricated, tested, and installed properly and that the product meets high level requirements.
You will maintain an up-to-date level of knowledge related to Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) hardware and software to effectively provide oversight of contractor design, integration, and support efforts.
You will serve as engineering systems (hardware / software / firmware) and open system products technical expert on applicable SSP shipboard system design and engineering projects.
You will participate in applicable Configuration Change Control Boards (CCB) for hardware, firmware, software, and documentation. Incumbent is the technical expert for system level operational testing of applicable SSP Shipboard Systems.
