GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience using a variety of guidelines, manuals, and standard reference materials that are not completely applicable to the work or have gaps in specificity requiring the incumbent to use judgment and initiative to interpret and adapt them to specific cases and problems. Experience to exercise independent judgment and skill to interpret and analyze considerable amounts of data plan the work, and refine methods and techniques. Experience applying considerable number of different basic but established methods, procedures, and techniques that affect the operation of systems and equipment and the timeliness and economy of operations, service, and equipment. GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience maintaining chamber maintenance, to include handling refrigerants and maintaining AC systems, and for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system maintenance. Experience establishing techniques for and performs daily inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and routine maintenance, taking into account several complex features involving circuit design, power loads, error and hazard analysis, and the dependence of the Master Clock stability on the affected subsystems. Experience developing techniques and design modifications, and establish control parameters to improve performance and reliability, drawing together the interdependence of the electronics with the Master Clock systems. Experience scheduling contractors and supervise their inspection, maintenance, and repair of the HVAC systems. Experience designing and making modifications to improve performance and reliability. Write formal reports and publications on procedures developed. You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the PRECISE TIME DEPT., U.S. NAVAL OBSERVATORY, COLORADO SPRINGS, CO.
You will be responsible for chamber maintenance, to include handling refrigerants and maintaining AC systems, and for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system maintenance.
You will establish techniques for and performs daily inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and routine maintenance.
You will provide improvement to Master Clock and time transfer electronic systems, subsystems, components, connections, and their associated electrical power systems.
You will perform routine satellite operations, special link calibrations, equipment testing, satellite dish installation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
You will create documentation, write internal reports, and conduct and document special technical investigations or studies, which include the complex dependencies of the relevant Master Clock and time transfer systems and subsystems
