To qualify for the Reservist Supply Specialist (Accountable Property Manager) position, you must possess and demonstrate work experience in each of the following areas: Managing an accountable property program to include; supervising inventory asset management and organizing the processing of excess property and assets for disposal in accordance with Federal property accountability rules, regulations, and laws; and Overseeing the use of computer systems, database, spreadsheets, or mobile devices used to record, track, analyze and report data on accountable property. OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related. In addition: Minimum age of eighteen years of age is required. All candidates must be a high school graduate or possess a GED. What will I do in this position if hired? As a Supply Specialist (Accountable Property Manager) in FEMA's Reservist Program, you will support national disaster operations by ensuring the efficient and effective accountability, protection, transfer, and ultimate disposition of personal property. Typical duties include: Developing the organizational structure for the Accountable Property Office which includes; ensuring that the organizational structure and staff are compliant with the Incident Command System (ICS), developing work assignments and sets, making organizational adjustments based on the complexity of a disaster. Ensuring all accountable property is bar coded and accurately received and entered into the Inventory System of Record (ISR) in accordance with the Field Operations Guide (FOG) and FEMA Manual 119-7-1. Establishing inventory asset management protocols by determining appropriate inventory types and making certain all assets are organized, stored, and secured. Generating annual inventory certification memorandums and reviewing reports such as the Review Property Transfer Reports (PTRs) and Report of Survey (ROS) for accuracy and corrective actions. Coordinating property distribution as directed by the National Utilization Officer. What else do I need to know? All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions. As a Reservist Employee, your role is to support response or recovery efforts. Reservists are intermittent, on-call employees. Please note that this is not a full-time position, and you only are paid when deployed. Deployment frequency and length varies based on disaster response need. Due to the irregular nature of disasters, Reservist employees are not guaranteed regular recurring hours, deployments, or renewal of employment.
