In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing professional contracting work analyzing and evaluating procurement requirements, performing pre or post award contract administration, price or cost analysis, and/or negotiation of contracts including modifications for an organization. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will serve as a Contract Specialist responsible for procurement requirements generated by the SSP Technical Branches.
You will have direct responsibility for the planning, negotiation, and award of the contracts, many of which are high-dollar, complex procurements.
You will prepare cost and price analysis on high-dollar complex contractor proposals, present developed negotiation positions to a peer review panel, pre and post negotiation business clearances, and ensure compliance.
You will prepare contract drafts, including innovative provisions, and provide final documents for signature by a Warranted Contracting Officer in accordance with office delegations of authority.
You will resolve complex advance procurement planning and contract planning problems that arise from day to day.
You will negotiate contracts supporting the TRIDENT II Sub Launched Ballistic Missile Program, Nuclear Weapons Security Programs, Conventional Prompt Strike Program, Nuclear Sea Launched Cruise Missile Program, or Submarine Security Programs.
