Job Description:
You will serve as a TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER (TPM) in the COMBAT SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIVISION, COMBAT SYSTEMS TEST & EVALUATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying advanced engineering principles to provide technical and programmatic guidance for surface ship combat and weapon system projects. You will function as TPM supporting the Sea Based Weapons Systems (SBWS) program and provide sponsors a focal point for the technical expertise and leadership in Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Readiness and Sustainment efforts on US Navy ships.
You will be responsible for in-service engineering, to include: readiness, sustainment, operations and maintenance.
You will provide technical and programmatic leadership for personnel and support contractors assigned to SBWS projects.
You will perform project management duties, to include: Budget, program review coordination, POM participation, financial planning and development of Statements of Work.
You will direct, coordinate and oversee SBWS work across the departments, including monitoring quality of appropriate product deliverables, and making decisions on technical and fiscal issues.
You will work within the budgetary and programmatic environment established by Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and other major sponsors.
You will serve as an expert in weapon/combat system engineering and contribute to the development, evolution and execution of policy, strategy and initiatives in support of the Command's mission.
