One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05 for GS-07, GS-07 for GS-09, and GS-09 for GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience for GS-07: Applying financial laws, principles, systems, policies, methods, and practices to provide routine technical guidance to managers, employees and/or customers; gathering data from financial systems; and researching financial policies and laws to resolve common financial issues. Specialized experience for GS-09: Researching and interpreting financial regulations, policies and laws to provide substantive recommendations and advice to managers; analyzing and evaluating reports and data from financial systems to identify issues and discrepancies; and providing recommendations for corrective actions regarding problem areas. Specialized experience for GS-11: Experience providing technical financial system support to customers; monitoring and evaluating financial systems to identify weaknesses and ensure compliance with internal controls; and analyzing the impact of applicable laws and regulations on an organization's financial policies, operations and systems and recommending changes to maintain compliance. Time-in-Grade for GS-07: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in Federal Service. Time-in-Grade for GS-09: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service. Time-in-Grade for GS-11: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal Service. Duties described below reflect the full performance level GS-11. Duties assigned to an entry grade of GS-7 or GS-9 will be developmental in nature.
Analyzes, plans, and evaluates directorate functions to determine validity, propriety, accuracy, and adequacy of work processes.
Confers with personnel at all levels; observes operating practices; and accomplishes any other tasks deemed essential to performance of related duties.
Performs quality control examinations of operations, policies, procedures, and internal controls including the analysis of data and information.
Performs analysis and makes recommendations for corrective or enhancement actions to ensure the adequacy of the internal control operations.
Provides technical support to customers who need assistance utilizing client level hardware and software in accordance with established or approved organizational process components.
