Job Description:
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management (INFOSEC) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Headquarters U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Action Officer responsible for providing cybersecurity (CS) direction, coordination and advice command-wide for complex and advanced information technology (IT) systems.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Collaborate with subordinate activities to solve cybersecurity incident; 2) conducting a continuing assessment of the Security posture; 3) providing guidance on a wide range of complex cybersecurity issues; AND 4) make decisions or recommendations that significantly influence important agency Information Technology policies or programs. The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12)
As an Information Technology Specialist (Information Security), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Advise and assist subordinate activities with interpreting and complying with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) Cybersecurity (CS) and Information Technology (IT) policies.
Receive, analyze, and inform subordinate activities and (TRADOC) Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-6 leadership about CS directives from DoD, DA, (ARCYBER), and other pertinent organizations.
Provide advice and assistance to subordinate activities as they work to accredit information systems through the Risk Management Framework 2.0 process.
Advise the TRADOC Authorizing Official of vulnerabilities associated with TRADOC IT systems.
Conduct analyses and recommends solutions to be implemented and monitored that provide new and enhanced approaches to delivering CS and IT services.
Apply IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices to plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments and to develop new methods, approaches, and procedures.
Apply prevailing practices in public and private sector IT, to advise and implement on alternative solutions to adapt new/evolving methods or to make significant departures from previous government approaches in applying IT.
