About the Position: This position is located at Army Health Clinic Reynolds, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Dentist (General Practice): Education: Applicants must possess a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience and/or Education Required: A. Applicants must have completed a 2-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science. OR B. Applicants must have two years of professional dentistry experience and/or training, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-11). OR C. Applicants must have completed a residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science AND professional dentistry experience and/or training equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-11). When combining residency program and professional dentistry experience and/or training to qualify, the total must be equal to or greater than two years. Note for Qualifying Experience: Qualifying experience involves the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. Examples of dentistry experience may include the removal of decay; filling cavities; straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth; treating gum diseases; performing corrective surgery; making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions; and performing other requirements of the position. Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish shades of color. If you are selected for a Dentist position: A salary quote will not be provided to you at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process begins after the initial job offer is accepted. This consists of the Activity Compensation Panel adding base pay and market pay to determine your starting salary and this will be provided to you once approved. Salary for physician positions is based on a tier scale, determined by the position specialty, grade, and location.
Treat common dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative or preventive measures such as single and multiple teeth extractions and restoration of simple and compound cavities.
Acquire mouth impressions of crowns, jackets, dentures and bridges and fit and insert the finished appliances.
Consult with and refer patients to other appropriate specialists.
Perform various preventive measures such as conducting extensive prophylaxis treatment, performing deep scaling and root planning.
Conduct group oral health counseling, tobacco cessation counseling, and diet counseling.
Submit performance data, dental records, consultation requests and other dental records in approved information management system.
