About the Position: Serves as the civilian military Human Resources Assistant with the responsibility for the independent processing of a variety of military personnel transactions for AWOL returnees, prisoners, post-trial convicted soldiers, and appellants.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience performing clerical/administrative tasks and utilizing office automation equipment and various software programs to create/retrieve a variety of documents, produce correspondence, create or maintain spreadsheets or databases. Or experience using systems such as Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-a), Interactive Personnel Electronics Record Management (iPERMS), to process a variety of military personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources, Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Maintain files according to a recordkeeping system.
Type, file, and enter data in an automated system to support clerical or administrative requirements.
Utilize an automated database to track or capture information.
Answer questions about personnel actions that been processed.
Audit records to ensure they are correct and complete.
Comply with military customs and courtesies to ensure a professional work environment.
Interact professionally with a variety of individuals to communicate human resources information.
