Who may apply: Current permanent DFAS employees in the competitive service, eligible DoD PPP Military Spouse preference applicants, and current DFAS VRA employees. This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-09, or GS-11 with a target grade of GS-11. The minimum salary for grade GS-9 is $61,111, the maximum salary is $79,443. The minimum salary for grade GS-11 is $73,939, the maximum salary is $96,116.
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-7 for the GS-9 position and GS-9 for the GS-11 position) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience for the GS-09 grade level is defined as: performing financial management data analysis; creating recommendations for business process improvements; and providing customer support for an automated accounting or financial management system. Specialized experience for the GS-11 grade level is defined as: evaluating financial management data to identify issues or problems; and applying appropriate analytical techniques and methods in order to recommend solutions or improvements to organizational functions. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-9, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-7 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-11, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-9 or higher in the Federal service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Ensures the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
Conducts studies and data analysis of work outputs to identify material weaknesses.
Evaluates internal payment policies, procedures, controls, and work outputs to provide proactive, user-friendly products and services to the customer and ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) payment policies and directives.
Monitors and evaluates financial systems support to ensure compliance, internal controls, and optimal operating procedures.
Plans, manages and supervises the assigned organization providing both technical and administrative oversight to GS employees.
For vacancies filled at less than the full performance level of the position, duties will be developmental in nature.
