This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Developing and implementing Industrial Security related training; Developing and executing the review and process of DD 254 forms, Statement of Work and/or Performance of Work Statements; Managing and delegating task support across multidiscipline security projects. OR You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Experience assisting Industrial Security related training; Experience assisting with the review and processing of DD 254 forms, Statement of Work and/or Performance of Work Statements; Experience assisting with the support of multidiscipline security projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a Security Specialist at the GS-0080-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a Security Specialist and has experience and knowledge working with the Industrial Security program. Manages the day-to-day operations of assigned areas and acts as a liaison with higher-level managers, subject matter experts, and customers both within and outside the Agency. Reviews DD Form 254, Statement of work (SOW) or Performance Work Statements (PWS) and works with Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), Contracting Officers (KOs), and Program Managers (PMs) on all Industrial Security Matters. Analyzes, plans, advises, and evaluates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting the information, operations, facilities, and/or personnel of the Agency from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss. Develops and conducts training to all Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), Contracting Officers (KOs), and Program Managers (PMs). Conducts security studies, assessments, and surveys and provides recommendations and briefings on policy/position papers relative to the Industrial Security programs. Analyzes threats and makes recommendations on needed security equipment, methods, procedures, and systems to mitigate any existing threats. Reviews, interprets, and implements Executive Orders, DoD and Agency Policies, inter-Agency guidance, and local procedures related to assigned program(s) areas. Conducts inquiries, evaluations, assessments, or investigations into security concerns. Prepares written reports and assessments and makes recommendations for corrective action. Coordinates within the Agency, other US agencies, military services, and state, local, and tribal partners to resolve security concerns and to improve security programs. Ensures security standards are being administered by reviewing and making recommendations regarding existing policies, procedures, and techniques and develops new or modifies existing security policies, processes, and procedures in assigned areas. Prepares briefings and reports for Agency senior leaders, higher-level managers, customers, and peers. Develops, reviews, and modifies Agency security training as needed. Conducts security training and education in security awareness events, Agency sponsored training, or other venues. Conducts debriefings and performs other related educational requirements. Other duties as assigned.
