The primary purpose of this position is to provide a student trainee in the Pathways Internship Program with on-the-job training and guidance. *** THIS PUBLIC NOTICE COVERS ALL SUMMER HIRE STUDENT TRAINEE, GS-0399-02/03/04 POSITIONS FOR ALL TITLES ***
In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Student Trainee Positions. Failure to submit transcripts, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university will result in an ineligible rating. QUALIFICATIONS: For GS-02 grade level: Competed a high school diploma or equivalent no later than June 2025 AND acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university For GS-03 grade level: Completion of 30 semester hours or more of post high school study leading towards a qualifying degree (i.e. associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.) For GS-04 grade level: Completion of 60 semester hours or more of post high school study leading towards a qualifying degree (i.e. associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.) NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. ***For completed educational programs or equivalent during Spring/Summer 2025, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university for Fall 2025 must be provided*** PLEASE NOTE: This is not a developmental opportunity; this position will be filled at the GS-02 through GS-04 depending on applicant qualifications and organizational requirements. The individual selected for this position may be considered for promotion to a higher grade without further competition upon meeting all legal and regulatory/program requirements. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds. *** GS-02 Applies typing skill and knowledge of a limited range of basic functions and procedures of word processing software to create, copy, edit, and print a variety of standardized documents. Prepares a variety of standardized documents in draft or final form from detailed procedural instructions. Prepares and maintains office records of various types. Processes incoming mail. Receives telephone calls and visitors. GS-03 Uses basic functions of office automation word processing software and electronic mail to create, copy, edit, and print a variety of standardized documents. Prepares a variety of standardized documents from rough draft and/or oral instructions. Prepares and maintains office records of various types. Processes incoming mail. Receives and directs telephone calls or visitors. GS-04 Uses varied and advanced functions of word processing software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of letters, reports, memos, and other textual documents. Prepares a wide variety of recurring correspondence, internal reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources and reviews and finalizes documents prepared by others. Establishes, updates, and maintains office records of various types that may be needed or will assist in the efficient operation of the office. Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives. Receives and directs telephone calls or visitors.
