To qualify at the GS-09: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1.) Developing simple budget estimates 2.) Monitoring budget execution 3) Applying policies and procedures for simple purchases. OR have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Accounting and Statistics; OR a combination of specialized experience and education to include having the specialized experience, but less than one year and at least one year of graduate education as described above but less than the required two years. The percentage of the requirements that I meet total to at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide the total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. To qualify at the GS-11: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1.) Applying commonly used fiscal law, policies and procedures 2) formulating, compiling and developing budget estimates; 3) monitoring and analyzing budget execution; OR Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Accounting and Statistics. (Note you must attach a copy of your transcripts.); OR a combination of specialized experience and education to include having the specialized experience, but less than one year and at least two years of graduate education as described above but less than the required three years. Performs a variety of budget administration functions in the formulation, execution and review of the Civil Works Operation and Maintenance, General Regulatory, Emergency Management, and Overhead accounts.
Review and track status of obligations and expenditures for Civil Works Operation and Maintenance, General Regulatory, and Emergency Management appropriations received in the Kansas City District
Advises managers and program/project managers on requirements for the preparation, documentation, and submission of budget requests.
Coordinate funds request between District management, program/project managers, and customers.
