About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Information Technology Office on Luke AFB. This is a Regular Full-Time position, guaranteed 35 hours and includes benefits. Work requires some physical exertion such as regular bending, crouching, kneeling and crawling and the ability to lift and carry typical information technology components.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Possess working knowledge and experience of a wide range of data automaton techniques, methods, procedures to perform duties as they relate to a variety of interfacing operations hardware and software systems such as Microsoft Windows (MS) and Server; current versions of MS Internet Explorer and MS Outlook; standard troubleshooting practices to resolve and/or modify software/hardware problems. Have working knowledge of current versions of Norton and McAfee antivirus software and be familiar with Microsoft Office. Skills in troubleshooting and resolving problems with information systems is required. A+, Network+ or Security+ certifications are considered preferred, but not required for position candidacy.
Assist the Force Support IT support Manager in all matters relating to data automation data systems and communication hardware/software applications used within the Force Support Squadron. This includes, but not limited to developing programs for local requirements using current versions of Microsoft Access and Excel and train personnel in their use; install software and hardware and provide training as required; provide technical support for Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and/or legacy systems, such as: Service Information Management System (SIMS), various Point-of-Sale (PoS) systems, and current versions of Microsoft browser software, antivirus software, desktop operating systems, and network e-mail; prepares and maintains documentation for locally developed programs; assists in the installation, implementation and maintenance of network hardware systems such as cable, hubs, routers and current network server reconfigurations; assists with site preparation for new system to keep pace with changing technologies; provide technical support assistance to Force Support Squadron computer users. Provides desktop customer support for all workstation and peripherals connected to the FSS Commercial Network. Resolves partial system failures (software or hardware-related) by providing for revised application of system components, which involves working through or around the problems with reduced capacity and readjusting the system until full operating efficiencies are attained. Executes downward directed computer and software upgrades. Uses established industry recognized troubleshooting techniques to identify and promptly resolve network-related problems. Performs preventive maintenance inspections (PMI's) as required. Coordinates and schedules repairs with appropriate vendors for equipment under warranty. Identifies and reports aging hardware for refreshment in assigned areas. May be required, where applicable, to function as the Unit or Facility Client Support Technician for desktop systems that operate on the .MIL network. May be required to execute Client Support Technician (CST) or Information Assurance (IAO) notices and orders and initiate the directed actions as appropriate for the .MIL network. Maintains accountability of APF or NAF information system assets that are assigned to the Unit or Facility.
