About the Position: This is an Interdisciplinary Engineering Position GS-13 with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD), Omaha District, responsible for the Division's overall quality management program and systems with the goals to improve quality of products and services, increase efficiency, standardize and consolidate business processes, allow for continual improvement, and provide a resource for employees.

Specialized Experience for GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes participating in the implementation and/or execution of quality assurance procedures on construction projects, ensuring all work adheres to established standards and specifications by conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, identifying non-conformances, and taking corrective actions to maintain project quality throughout the design and construction process.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. As the Engineering Division’s quality management subject matter expert, you will:
Organize, establish and maintain an effective and comprehensive Engineering Division quality management program for in-house and Architect-Engineer contracted work and the integration of such into other District quality management programs.
Develop, manage, and implement a lessons learned program that captures, assesses, disseminates and stores design quality related issues.
Track construction cost growth on projects due to engineering changes, design deficiencies, or other significant engineering changes to address quality issues to document any associated design quality lesson learned.
Provide programmatic, policy, and quality assurance oversight of Engineering Division’s quality management program.
