Opportunity
Do you have a variety of knowledge in the installation and modification of electrical systems (power, control & lighting) in an industrial environment and do you hold a journeyman's license? Are you interested in developing estimates for capital projects and planning work for electricians? If so, then Maintenance Planner - Electrical is the job for you!
The primary function of the Maintenance Planner - Electrical is to improve work output and safety through the scheduling and planning of nonreactive work. The ability to make independent decisions that minimize downtime and reduce maintenance spend are key requirements.
Specific Responsibilities
Work Flow Function
Determine job commencement date by priority, availability, and material lead-time requirements.Make decisions that reduce impact on plant production through thorough evaluation of risk and work selection, improving OEE. Evaluate existing and incoming work volumes to establish the need for partner contractors to meet established priority.
Planning Function
Develop scope of work and limiting conditions, through worksite evaluation and consultation with the requester, engineering management and equipment suppliers.Identify special tools, procedures, equipment and required trades. Arrange availability in accordance with the project timeline through coordination with other planner groups.Archive repeatable work as job plans for future use.Prepare estimates using simplified maintenance standards, historical standards and experience-based approximations for budgeting purposes.
Scheduling Function
Prepare a detailed weekly schedule that identifies daily activities, including allowance for emergency work and preapproved vacations.Revise the weekly schedule for major changes in project scope affecting resources and communicate these changes to all effected parties.Participate in a weekly schedule meeting with stake holders, including the identification of additional downtime for critical work.
General Functions
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings and create simple sketches. Maintain a clean organized kitting and staging area for materials by placing materials in bins, and communicating kitted material location on job plans. Participate in continuous improvement reduction programs.
