This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR, Position Description Number D1285000 and is part of the NJ UTES, National Guard.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 18 months experience in the following: Diagnosing, repairing overhauling, modifying: Complex vehicle Equipment Complicated systems Knowledge of diagnostic equipment Skill in applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques to resolve maintenance problems Ability to test, inspect, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles
As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR, WG-5801-11, you will: Plan and lay out work to be accomplished by shop workers Troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles Perform work in accordance with Modification Work Orders, Technical Manuals, Lubrication Orders, Maintenance Bulletins, Regulations, or management policies. Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or use test equipment Remove and disassemble engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems Provide technical guidance and team leadership to lower grade employees within the shop Perform operational inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly serviced
