Job Description:
You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military) in the Navy Recruiting District of NAV RECRUITING DISTRICT PORTLAND.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining personnel records to ensure they are accurate and up to date; 2) Providing guidance to personnel regarding human resources policies and procedures; and 3) Utilizing automated systems to perform administrative human resource support functions; and 4) Reviewing personnel information for discrepancies, preparing reports, briefings, and correspondence. You will serve as an initial reviewer of eligibility for naval service utilizing applicable directives and regulations.
You will review enlistment applications and process actions involving complex and unusual procedures.
You will identify gaps and/or inconsistencies in the application.
You will retrieve data to answer questions, respond to correspondence, prepare reports and briefings.
You will review forms, documents, and other related information from enlisted applicants and constructs initial enlisted service record.
You will enter data into automated systems.
You will schedule applicants for physical exams and review medical prescreen documents for completeness.
