Job Description:

You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (Freight) in the Surface Cargo, Distribution Division of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR (647th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam).
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Transportation Assistant experience equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with knowledge and application of transportation management policies, regulations, methods, and procedures related to the movement of a wide range of specialized shipments including oversized, heavy, hazardous, classified, and security risk items. I have experience determining the mode and routing of shipments to meet established required delivery dates. Examples of Specialized Experience may include: 1) Prepare and process shipment document to schedule cargo for surface and air transportation; 2) Ensure proper preparation, packaging and documentation is accomplished for the transportation of materials; 3) Resolve technical problems concerning complex routing, evaluation of rates and establishment of priorities; 4) Monitor and control accountable transportation documents and related forms; 5) Coordinate cargo function documentation between the Air Clearance Authority (ACA) and Water Port Logistics Officer (WPLO). You will assist the Surface Cargo Supervisor in the preparation and submission of budget data for the transportation functions, including such items as unit moves, port handling, and commercial airlift costs.
