Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the NUCLEAR ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer overseeing nuclear engineering technical requirements relating to reactor plant maintenance on submarines and/or aircraft carriers in a naval shipyard industrial environment. You will serve as the senior technical authority on matters related to work in connection with the overhaul, repair, alteration, maintenance, and testing of nuclear reactor plant and propulsion plant components and systems.
You will participate with high level personnel in other departments, Naval installations, and Shipyards.
You will develop, establish and promulgate technical policies and plans for nuclear reactor plant and propulsion plant upkeep and unplanned maintenance work including organization, staffing, and related resources.
You will ensure technical employees are adequately trained and qualified to perform assigned functions.
You will promote and administer management programs such as safety, cost reduction, productivity improvement, incentive awards, energy conservation, and employee performance appraisals.
You will implement and control effective nuclear material and Level I material control programs.
You will coordinate efforts of the technical employees in support of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program radiological emergency response program as administered by the Area Commander - Submarine Squadron 11.
You will conduct investigations of potential or existing problems affecting nuclear reactor plant and propulsion plant maintenance operations.
