About the Position: Serve as the USAREC Direct Reporting Unit Proponent for USAREC G-1 which has responsibility for execution and policy of multiple Military programs and functional areas Subject Matter Expert (SME). Manage multi-functional military personnel programs to include gifts and donations, uniform policy, Army weight control program, heraldry, special leave accrual, and foreign language pay program for a Direct Reporting Unit (DRU).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) processing a wide variety of military personnel actions using automated systems; 2) assisting with reviewing guidelines, policies, regulations and/or statutory requirements; 3) processing travel orders/documents for international travel AND 4) preparing written correspondences such as reports, briefings, after action reports, etc.… This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources, Business Administration/Management, or Project Management OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Managing Human Resources Problem Solving Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Principal Staff Advisor and Coordinator to the command staff as well as DRU units and activities.
DRU Program manager for management of personnel actions for the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) program for Temporary Tours of Active-Duty requests.
Serves as the Army’s Suitability Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-1 for a three-star DRU headquarters.
Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and reporting to DRU Senior Leadership and HQDA all military personnel Risk Reduction requirements.
Manages, develops, reviews, analyzes, and submits USAREC recommendations on actions regarding Military Personnel Transformation, Military Personnel Information Systems, and Military Personnel Policy.
Monitor and assist in the administration of the military orders program to ensure compliance with policies.
Manages and administers the Voting Program for USAREC units and activities.
