Job Description:

You will serve as a COATINGS & COVERING SHOP SUPVERVISOR in the COATINGS & COVERING SERVICES SHOP (CODE 970), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in the successful execution of assigned non-nuclear projects including fabrication work, contract work, shop work, ship work and other productive work. Experience with ship repair and overhaul as well as experience managing shop operations through subordinate supervisors. Experience practicing analytical management techniques, including production and material control, cost control and personnel management. Experience effectively communicating both orally and in writing in order to inform, advise, guide, or persuade a variety of audiences. You will develop long and short-range plans for assigned projects.
You will prepare production status reports that describe the delivery status and forecast.
You will coordinate work between projects and trades needed to ensure successful completion.
You will evaluate schedule adherence and cost performance to recommend changes if needed.
You will monitor work in progress as well as upon completion to ensure work is completed on time, with quality and within cost.
