This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Qualified candidates will possess the following: experience within an Outdoor Recreation program that offered some of the following areas: paddling activities, canoeing, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking PLEASE NOTE: Your resume & application package must reflect the qualifications stated in the announcement and questionnaire to be rated eligible.
Instructs groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, and mountain biking.
Uses a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to participants who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds.
Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers.
Reports any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to guests.
Incumbent is responsible for group management and the safety of the participants must always be the number one priority.
