Job Description:

You will serve as a SYSTEMS ENGINEER - in the Support Equipment (SE) Department, PEO(A) Peculiar SE Division, P-8/P-3/VH-92 Peculiar SE Branch supporting the E-130J Peculiar SE Team of the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIVISION LAKEHURST.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Planning, budgeting and managing systems engineering activities to include identification, development, acquisition, production, delivery, and sustainment of all required Support Equipment (SE); 2) Leading electrical and avionics SE engineering projects across the life cycle; 3) Coordinating and interfacing with appropriate Program Offices, NAVAIR and NAWCAD Departments, system commands, fleet representatives, and contractors to translate operational needs into configured systems; 4) Making major program recommendations concerning program direction, resources, policies, and schedules; and 5) Managing all project schedules, budgets, and acquisitions to ensure projects are executed in accordance with SE and Naval aviation policies; and meet program goals for cost, schedule, and performance. You will lead all life cycle systems engineering efforts by integrating various engineering disciplines and collaborating with stakeholders to translate operational needs into configured SE end items
You will lead a diverse, multi-site team to coordinate requirements, identify/manage risks, develop solutions, and resolve complex issues
You will create project management plans and implement strategies to meet program cost, schedule, and performance requirements
You will use the Systems Engineering Technical Review Process, engineering best practices, and SE policies/process to execute tasks and provide authoritative input on engineering issues
You will maintain currency with emerging technologies and create new technology applications for program/project improvement
You will formulate tasks, identify resources, establish priorities, direct workload, and monitor progress in achieving program objectives
You will develop technical documentation, white papers, and presentations; and will brief leadership to convey information, influence/negotiate outcomes, and justify requirements
You will evaluate the work of others, provide contract support and oversight, and develop/mentor junior engineers
