GS-9: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience with electrical circuits and complex electrical systems such as Ship Service Motor Generators, Main Storage Battery, AC/DC Power and Distribution, Indication and Control, Interior Communication Systems. *Experience preparing electrical scheduling documents, status reports, milestone charts, and management documents. *Experience planning courses of actions, identifying conditions that do not comply with design specifications, and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems. *Experience determining and specifying tolerances for electrical components and overhaul system parameters. You will serve as an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER in the ELECTRICAL BRANCH, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
You will act as the Shipyard representative in off yard conferences.
You will provide engineering guidance and support to other Shipyard components.
You will prepare and review correspondence, design memos, technical reports, estimates, status reports, specifications, test memoranda, procedures and instructions.
You will investigate deficiencies and recommend repairs, modifications, replacements, or operational changes.
