Job Description:
You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the SHIP AND FIRE SAFETY DIVISION, OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience with submarine systems associated with submarine structural/hull integrity, subsafe requirements, fire prevention and control, and temporary systems. *Experience with 6010 manual, 8010 manual, Work & Test Manual (WTM) and ability to interpret federal guides and/or instructions. *Experience with project management and communicating with various stakeholders at all levels. *Experience enforcing established safety rules/regulations. You will have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with submarines.
You will ensure fire/flooding drills are executed as required.
You will identify hazardous conditions created by proposed actions, resolved conflicts, and disapproves actions to maintain ship conditions.
You will coordinate efforts with Docking Officer, Engineering and Planning Department, Production Resources Ships and Ship’s Force with safe conditions of readiness to undergo docking or undocking evolutions.
