These positions are located at the Natchez Trace Parkway in the all districts - Dancy District, located near Mantee, Mississippi, and the Kosciusko District located near Kosciusko, Mississippi; Meriwether Lewis District, located near Hohenwald, Tennessee and the Leipers Fork District located near Leipers Fork, Tennessee; Natchez District, located near Natchez, Mississippi, and the Port Gibson District located near Port Gibson, Mississippi; Ridgeland District, located in Ridgeland, Mississippi and the Tupelo District located near Tupelo, Mississippi. The primary function of Tractor Operators during the main season, from late spring to early fall, is to mow and maintain the roadsides along the Parkway and the access roads. During other times of the year, and as necessary during the main season, Tractor Operators perform general maintenance on the Parkway's infrastructure. This includes pavement maintenance such as crack sealing, patching holes, and pulling road shoulders as well as building maintenance including plumbing, painting, roofing, rough carpentry, and minor electrical work. Tractor Operators also remove hazardous trees and limbs and serve as the primary equipment operators. Tractor Operators often work independently or in small groups away from administrative areas and therefore possess all necessary authority and autonomy to carry out normal duty assignments.
