This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AUDITOR to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Senior Auditor perform audit readiness, distribute and monitor the workload, provide advice and assistance to lower graded auditors.

Specialized Experience: GS-09 You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: (1) Experience applying accounting and auditing theories and principles. (2) Experience researching applicable guidelines and regulations and employing audit procedures or precedent cases to resolve problems/questions. (3) Experience documenting results in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and DoD and DA policies. (4) Experience performing routine or limited audits and internal examinations of accounting and operational functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). GS-11 You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: (1) Experience performing professional accounting and auditing principles, concepts, and practices along with a general knowledge of regulations, requirements, and practices to perform assignments requiring conventional methods and techniques. (2). Experience independently perform the assignment and to gather, organize, and evaluate data in multiple areas and separate essential from nonessential data. (3) Experience serve as an auditor responsible for providing local commands and higher echelons with detailed briefings or position papers on the adequacy and accuracy of managerial and financial accounting systems and reports within the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). GS-12 You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: (1) Experience performing analytical and evaluative methods and management techniques in order to audit data inputs; plan, organize, conduct and/or direct complex analyses with undefined scopes; and ultimately develop detailed, functional user requirements. (2) Experience performing accounting and auditing theory, management controls and risk management concepts, practices and techniques. (3). Experience communicating to interact with high-ranking officials to settle controversial issues. (4). Experience leadership and management skills in order to effectively provide functional advice to team members and customers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Serve as the command representative and point of contact for external agencies regarding their audit findings and recommendations.
Evaluate the validity of findings and recommendations identified by external audit agencies.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis in the coordination and resolution of problems.
Research and examine information or documents to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, or audit readiness, and to promote operational effectiveness and efficiency of programs, processes and policies.
Apply Government Auditing Standards and a wide range of evaluation techniques (e.g., interviews, computer assisted techniques, statistical analysis and questionnaires) in gathering, documenting, and summarizing data.
