About the Position: Responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scope, development, and direction of major contract projects and/or functional programs within the Military Programs Branch in the Omaha District (NWO).

Experience establishing project milestones. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Acquisition Strategy Concepts, Policies, and Principles of Budget Oral Communication Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Serves as Program Manager responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned major projects and/or functional programs.
Performs as the project team leader, implements Government decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy in the development of the project and intermediate products in support of the project.
Negotiates and integrates all Omaha District (NWO) requirements as appropriate in support of assigned projects into a comprehensive management plan.
Coordinates the program planning, design, and implementation of competitive and non-competitive acquisitions through source selection processes for NWO programs of varying scope and complexity.
Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from planning through.
Allocates project funds to District elements, consistent with progress attained, and measures and monitors performance to assure commitments of all parties are being maintained.
Represents the NWO and serves as the Government's primary point of contact for major projects/programs assigned.
