To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), your qualifications must include: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Applying latest principles, practices, methods, and concepts in system/software design, development, testing, implementation, and risk management sufficient to maintain application integrity and availability. Assisting in the evaluation, selection, and integration of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or Government-off-the- shelf (GOTS) solutions. Providing IT solutions by modifying existing and/or building new software systems, working with customer functional proponents in their formulation of requirements that results in a new system design or major modifications to Automated Information Systems (AIS). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Serves as a senior member or coordinator of a project/program support team responsible for business systems requirements assessment, evaluation, analysis, elicitation, and interpretation.
Other project/programs within EDW J62KBB is planning, design, development, documentation testing, validation, implementation, support and maintenance of assigned area/ subsystem.
Works with key project stakeholders to document business requirements, business rules, and processing logic.
Develops test plans/cases, prepares test data sets, and conducts testing of application enhancements and break/fix conditions.
Evaluates and analyzes the customer's business system requirements for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, integrity, completeness, compliance, compatibility, and testability.
Conducts and/or participates in the research and investigation of technological developments.
These developments have the potential to improve the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.
Elicits and interprets requirements from customers for DLA's systems through brainstorming, research and analysis, focus groups, interviews, observation, prototyping, requirements workshops, on-site visits, and/or one- on- one meetings.
Performs "level of effort" assessment/impact analysis in concert with customers, coworkers, and system users for fixes, enhancements and other changes based on high level business requirements.
