About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located in Rock Island, IL. This position serves as Director, Environmental, Health and Safety Directorate with responsibilities in each of those domain areas.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Developing safety and occupational health policies . 2. Resolving safety issues by improving program execution despite opposition. 3. Managing the Safety Division with administrative operations, personnel management, and technical guidance. 4. Providing expert advice on the development and interpretation of safety regulations and standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Managing Human Resources Oral Communication Risk Management Safety and Health Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
Supervise workforce by planning, prioritizing, and scheduling work.
Apply expertise when analyzing, resolving, or communicating complex safety situations.
Coordinates efforts with stakeholders to maintain an effective safety program.
Analyze safety problems, with limited guidance, to develop solutions to deficient processes and procedures.
Develop plans with a forward-thinking approach.
