Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Degree: Completion of a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors. Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, and providing medication counseling to patients or educating staff. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Screen for drug interactions and review pertinent laboratory results, when necessary, as part of the prescription verification process.
Develop individual dosing regimens based upon pharmacokinetics of drugs employed, disease states, and medication history of the patient.
Interface with physicians or other health care providers in the design of a drug treatment.
Responsible for the pharmacy related operational policies of the clinical area and the functional direction of pharmacy staff members performing tasks related to clinical services.
Provide routine and complex drug information and education to patients, physicians, and other staff.
Administer medications according to provider guidance and pre-established protocols.
