The Congressional Research Service (CRS) Office of Administrative Operations (OPS) is seeking a Program Management Assistant. The selectees will be responsible for a wide range of duties relating to information management, organization and analysis; program coordination and logistical support; and records management.
Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. This position requires the incumbent to gather, organize and present information on a variety of topics related to the business of the office. The program management assistant creates and/or contributes to databases, spreadsheets, and other automated records for the purpose of documenting and presenting information. The ideal candidate performs data entry, and other information and data management related tasks. Conducts database file searches and generates ad hoc and routine reports. The program management assistant serves as a program liaison and maintains extensive contact with CRS managers and supervisors at all levels to facilitate the coordination of administrative tasks and to alert management officials to forthcoming deadlines. Coordinates administrative tasks in support of property management and facility operations functions. As the custodian of the office and section files, the program management assistant designs, organizes, and maintains needed filing systems. Performs electronic scanning of paper records for storage and retrieval purposes, and maintains up-to-date master files on administrative materials. CRS works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation.
