The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Housekeeping Aid Leaders. The Housekeeping Aid Leader will function in (EMS) Environmental Management Service.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/24/2025. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Duties of a Housekeeping Aid Leader includes, but are not limited to: Follows instructions from Housekeeping Supervisors to lead housekeeping aids assigned to perform duties in compliance with established Environmental Management Service Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Keeps team members actively engaged in productive duties, plans and coordinates scheduled duties performed by the team. Ensures that employees maintain proper working techniques and standards. Conducts all administrative duties as assigned. Trains other housekeeping aids in a variety of cleaning tasks including, but not limited to (mopping, in-depth cleaning of floor surfaces, waste removal, bathroom cleaning, dispenser stocking, and a variety of special cleaning applications). Performs various tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dust mopping, vacuuming, waxing, striping and polishing floors; and other various in-depth cleaning of floor surfaces. Communicates professionally and courteously to all staff requesting his/her service and shows a constant support for peers, supervisors, management and for departmental goals. Operates modern housekeeping machines, equipment, tools and supplies used in sanitation. Maintains equipment and makes minor repairs when necessary.
