Job Description:

This vacancy is for a GS-2010-12, Inventory Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, D8 WATERWAYS MANAGEMENT BRANCH -DPW. Duty location is in New Orleans, LA.
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: budget and financing, experience in inventory management to include forecasting needed inventory, processing inventory transactions, and experience in federal contracting as a contracting officer's representative. You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for performing inventory, contracting and budget work related to the Coastal and Western Rivers Waterways Management program.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Manage inventory stock levels for two accounts, ordering new stock as necessary and tracking incoming orders. Work with the Headquarters Product Line to acquire commercial acquisitions and ensure compliance with contracts Manage and execute District Eight Waterways Management Division Budget
