Job Description:

You will serve as a TRAINING SYSTEM SPECIALIST in the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, Safety and Standardization (DSS) section aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River of II MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluate the effectiveness, adequacy and suitability of existing aircraft training equipment and systems; Identifying, analyzing, and resolving developmental or program issues to provide advice and guidance; and provide oral/written communication on different viewpoints (e.g. contractors, military personnel, and civilian personnel) at conferences and private meetings. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. NOTE: Successful completion of the Navy Contracting Officer's Representative Course, NAVAIR Specific Contracting Officer's Representative Course, and other courses are required prior to COR designation by Procuring Contracting Officer. The incumbent must successfully complete these courses and other prerequisite training as required by the PCO prior to starting work in this position.
You will coordinate closely with other Subject Matter Experts (SME) in analysis of required equipment functions and tracks status of all modification initiatives and new training equipment development and procurement.
You will monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors providing operation, maintenance, and instruction services on assigned equipment.
You will interact extensively with the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO) and contractors.
You will request and coordinate shifts to Contracted Training Time (CTT), Contractor Instruction periods, and premium time authorizations to meet operational requirements.
You will advise on the technical aspects of all simulator installations, operation and maintenance of aviation training systems.
You will investigates/resolves trainer support problems.
You will participates in initiatives and value engineering concepts for improvement of Trainer Support Systems, materials and processes.
You will evaluate necessary, trainer related Airframe/Avionics changes and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) that may include technical, logistic and economic impact assessments and development of cost and lead time estimates.
You will identify classification requirements for installed training device equipment and coordinates their addition to the aircraft inventory with Security.
