This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Qualified candidates will possess the following: a Master's degree with a major study (minimum of twenty-four (24) semester hours) in any of the below fields: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management OR possess two (2) full years (60 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading towards a masters degree with at least twenty-four (24) semester hours in one or more of the following fields: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management OR possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience in system installation and programming experience sufficient to demonstrate knowledge in the following: Information Technology (IT) theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods; AND IT policy and planning concepts and practices; AND interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines; AND methods, approaches, and practices for managing communities of interest involved in development, AND implementation of IT architectures, investment planning, e-government, and other IT related legislative and policy initiatives. Serves as the Supervisor of the IT Branch, supervising a team of specialists performing Systems Administration and the delivery of Information Technology.
Formulates and publishes technical guidance and standard operating procedures for IT specialists; and ensures that supplies, equipment and other materials are available.
Provides ongoing optimization and problem solving support to minimize interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities.
Provides advice and guidance to managers and customers on a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in providing information technology customer support services.
Defines organizational objectives and specific goals, plans short-range and long-range work to be accomplished, and adjusts long-range schedules, objectives, and goals in relation to the workload, personnel required, and priorities.
