Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical assistance to Military bases or large industrial facilities in environmental planning and in completion of environmental documentation required by Federal and State laws, regulations, and military directives. The position consists primarily of office-based tasks as well as occasional field activities.
You will review proposed actions, determines, and recommends the appropriate response/course of action, and manages and executes the preparation of Categorical Exclusions (CATEXs), Environmental Assessments (EAs)
You will review proposed actions, determines, and recommends the Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) in support of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), other state and federal drivers, and DoD and MCBH regulations, policies and guidance.
You will provide technical expertise;develop methods of analysis;technical solutions and recommendations to meet program goals and requirements;develop and refine procedures;make recommendations to optimize the quality of NEPA documents and process.
You will monitor environmental information, directives or technical references to ensure that decisions reached during the environmental planning/ documentation process are consistent with the most recent court decisions and environmental policy.
You will perform a lead role in advising base and tenant commands on environmental issues with significant legal, natural or cultural resources management, environmental quality control, or mission-related consequences.
You will initiate, prepare, and/or review environmental documentation for construction, military training, or similar operations within land or waters owned or controlled by MCBH.
You will provide training on both a formal and informal basis on the NEPA environmental documentation process and in particular, on the preparation and submission of Categorical Exclusion documents by base and tenant activities.
You will assist in the development and implementation of natural and cultural resources management plans and as needed, participate in natural resources conservation projects.
